Gledhow Valley Allotments
Gledhow Valley Allotments are the largest site in Leeds and have been in existence since the 1st World War.
The site is autonomous but is owned by Leeds City Council to whom we pay rent.
The constitution of the association can be found here (updated 2021 Special General Meeting)
Gledhow Valley Allotments are located between Harrogate Road and Gledhow Valley Road in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
There are 129 plots on the site, some of which are half or even quarter plots due to changing demographics.
Once you have the allotmenting bug and feel the benefits at half the price of a gym membership and taste your own personally grown veg, you can always put your name down for a larger plot if you outgrow your plot.
There are 279 plot holders with a waiting list of about 100 (as of April 2024).
There are currently 53 non plot holder members (April 2024)
There are: 23 full plots, 151 half plots and 85 quarter plots. Also 1 eighth plot, 5 third plots and 1 three quarter plots!

We try and deal with any grievances informally and mostly they can be resolved in this way. However there may be occasions where we need to follow this formal procedure. (Click on title)
