Gledhow Valley Allotments

Gledhow Valley Allotments are the largest site in Leeds and have been in existence since the 1st World War.

The site is autonomous but is owned by Leeds City Council to whom we pay rent.

The constitution of the association can be found here (updated 2021 Special General Meeting)

Gledhow Valley Allotments are located between Harrogate Road and Gledhow Valley Road in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

There are 129 plots on the site some of which are half or even quarter plots due to changing demographics.

Once you have the allotmenting bug and feel the benefits at half the price of a gym membership and taste your own personally grown veg,  you can always put your name down for a larger plot if you outgrow your plot.

There are 256 plot holders with a waiting list of about 100 (as of February 2024).

There are currently 86 non plot holder members (September 2022)

There are: 24 full plots, 163 half plots and 62 quarter plots. Also 1 eighth plot, 4 a third plots and 2 three quarter plots!

Tea up

Structures i.e. greenhouses and polytunnels may be constructed on your plot. Please note there is guidance on size etc. Please check Leeds City Council Guidance and/or contact letting secretary
