SPRING SHOW

The Methodist Hall, Chapel Allerton – Parking available

Please note:  there are NO ENTRY FEES for this Show but ANY EXHIBIT can be reserved on payment of 10p

ALL entries must be displayed in a suitable Bikini Vase.  These are available in the Hall - on free loan for the period of the Show.

 

SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

MEMBERS’ FLOWER CLASSES

1.      Bowl of spring flowering bulbs.

2.      *B        One Vase of 3 cut Narcissus.  Long trumpets (i.e. trumpet              longer than petals)  One variety only and one bloom per stem.

3.      *B        One vase of 3 cut narcissus. Medium or short trumpet or                 cup. One variety only one bloom per stem.

4.      *B        One vase of 3 cut narcissus.  Three different varieties.  One              bloom per stem.

5.      One vase of three miniature narcissus.

6.      One vase of polyanthus.

7.      One vase of cut heathers.

8.      *B        One vase of mixed spring flowers, excluding narcissus and }

9.      *B        One vase of spring flowers of any one genus - excluding                narcissus, polyanthus and hellebores.

10. *B        One vase of hellebores.

11.                 Spray of flowering shrub

12. *B        One vase of spring flowers of any one genus - excluding                narcissus, polyanthus and hellebores.

 

13. One cactus or succulent in a pot

14. One pot plant, foliage

18. MEMBERS NOVICE CLASS (for anyone who has never won a prize in a CAAGA show)

MEMBERS’ VEGETABLE CLASSES

1.      Three spears of Sprouting Broccoli.

2.      Three leeks, with roots trimmed to approx. 5 cm (2”).

3.      Three sticks of Rhubarb.

4.      Any other vegetable (to be named)

            OPEN CLASSES

5.      Spring Flower arrangement (flowers need not be home grown)

6.      Three slices of flapjack.  Approx. 7.5cm x 7.5 cm (3” x 3”)

7.      Three round cheese scones

8.      Pizza with homemade topping.  Approx 20cm (8”) diameter

9.      Apple pie.  Approx 15cm (6”) diameter

10. Victoria sponge cake.  Approx 20cm (8”) diameter

11. ‘A celebration of nature’ – an original piece in any medium, e.g. painting, drawing, print, sculpture, freeform stitchcraft etc.

CHILDRENS CLASSES

12. A tub or home-grown cress – max. dimension 15 cm (6”)

13. Decorated hard-boiled egg – children up to 5 years.

14. Decorated hard-boiled egg – children 6 – 10 years

15. Decorated hard-boiled egg – children over 10 years

YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED FOR THE RAFFLE  -  PRIZES WELCOMED

 

SHOW RULES

 

1.      In Members’ classes, all exhibits must have been grown by the Exhibitor.

2.      Any Exhibitor may take only one prize per Class but entries are unlimited.

3.      The Judge’s decision on merit shall be final and they reserve the right to withhold any prize and/or award in the event of lack of merit.

4.      All unreserved exhibits, or exhibits which are reserved but not removed at 4.00 pm will be sold for Association funds.

5.      Exhibitors must provide their own vases for those classes where vases are not provided but the Committee cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage thereto.

6.      Any protest or objection made IN WRITING will be considered by the Committee but their decision on this or any other matter pertaining to the Show shall be final.

7.      No exhibit is to be removed before 4.00 pm.

8.      Prizes not collected on the afternoon of the Show will be repaid into funds.

The making of an entry by an Exhibitor is deemed to be an acceptance of these rules.
